Abstract

The current sociocultural situation of modern Russian poetry has a number of specific problems: The absence of a mainstream and an acute shortage of general analytical studies on the main poetic development trends. Another important feature of the modern period is the effect of the masses revolt: There are many more people who write poetry than those who regularly read poetry and know how to understand it professionally. Generally, it can be stated that despite the oversaturation of the cultural space with the gross poetic product, Russian poetry in the early 2020s entered a period not so much of pluralism of aesthetic opinions and polystylistics, but of disintegration, disorientation and partly even deprofessionalization – due to the loss of a sense of vibrant hierarchy and coherence within the cultural space. At a time when many cultural and social processes are determined predominantly by trends of globalization and digitalization, paradoxically, the disintegration of the Russian poetic context predominates. Only a few cultural figures are consciously overcoming this: some poets who cherish the poetic tradition, a number of philologists striving to create analytical and conceptual works, and individual publishers and editors of poetry journals who publish anthologies of contemporary Russian poetry, presented to varying degrees, as a coherent whole.
