Abstract

The article examines the organization patterns of poetic works within cycles and identifies their external and internal cycling factors. Functional laws include internal factors presented in the form of linguistic material of texts. By applying the method of the lyrical text functional analysis of the Crimean school of functional linguistics, we analyze poems and identify the coherence of texts in the cycle based on semantic units. The dominant role in combining poems into cycles is played by language units that make up the semantic field of the cycle. The object of our research is two poetic cycles by A. Akhmatova “In Tsarskoye Selo” and “Deception” from the first collection “Evening”, revealing functional patterns in the organization of language material. The main idea of this article is the need to indicate the leading role of language tools in the implementation of the author’s idea of the cycle based on the functional analysis of texts.
