Abstract

The aim of the article is to highlight modern approaches to teaching the Russian language in the context of linguo-regional studies with a focus on using the cultural heritage of regions as a methodological resource in school philological education. The article emphasizes the importance of integrating the works of famous Yelabuga writers into the educational process, demonstrating how this integration can enrich the Russian language teaching through the prism of culture and identity. We propose practice-oriented approaches, promoting the development of students’ linguistic and cultural competencies. These approaches are based on the experience gained while working with literary works reflecting the unique aspects of Yelabuga’s historical and cultural context. The methods and assignments considered are applied within the “Morphemics and Word-formation” section of the textbook, which not only deepens students’ knowledge of the language, but also fosters their respect for the regional cultural heritage. Thus, on the one hand, the inclusion of linguo-regional material in the process of teaching the Russian language creates a more multifaceted and holistic educational environment based on the students’ culture, history, creativity, and identity. On the other hand, it enhances their motivation, activates genuine interest in their native region (particularly through regional texts), and deepens their knowledge of the language.
