Abstract
This article examines the problem of speech influence on the addressee of the Russian media texts, covering measures to combat coronavirus. We used the material of two oppositely oriented publications (RIA Novosti and Eсho of Moscow) to identify cooperative and non-cooperative communication strategies and tactics, based on the classification of O. Issers and the principle of cooperation of H. Grice. By analyzing the material, we have found that when covering events, RIA Novosti most often refers to cooperative strategies (the strategy of consolation, persuasion, approval and justification), while in Echo of Moscow’s texts, non-cooperative speech actions predominate (mainly the strategy of discrediting). The study of readers’ comments allowed us to identify effective speech strategies and draw a conclusion about how successful the perlocution of the corporate addressee was, meaning both the author and the publication. The article notes that successful perlocution is associated not only with the relevance of speech strategies, but also with the principle of cooperation. A perfect perlocutionary act is possible in compliance with Н. Grice’s principle of cooperation and his postulates. We have found that the principle of cooperation is violated when non-cooperative strategies are used; however, the expected perlocutionary effect is achieved.
