Abstract
The article addresses the issue of the language barrier, influenced by both linguistic and psychological factors. This language barrier poses a significant obstacle in teaching Russian to non-native speakers and to their subsequent communication in a foreign language. Particular attention is given to the negative impact of the language barrier to intercultural communication, which can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts in academic and professional environments. As a solution to this problem, a new educational tool is proposed–communication training, which aims to develop intercultural communication skills and overcome language difficulties. The article focuses on the advantages of incorporating such training into the educational process, highlighting its effectiveness in creating a favorable learning environment that enhances the engagement of international students in communication and fosters a comfortable environment for active verbal interaction. We present the structure of communication training, which includes the following components: introduction, immersion in the topic, group work (scenario-based activities), and reflection. The article demonstrates that the development and implementation of communication training can significantly improve the educational process. In conclusion, the necessity for further research in this field is emphasized, which will allow for a deeper understanding of the interaction between linguistic and cultural factors in the communication process and the proposal is made to implement new innovative approaches to overcome the language barriers.
