Abstract
The article deals with Prof. Yuzef Trunsky’s life and scientific-pedagogical work in the Department of General History at the Kazan State Pedagogical Institute. We examine the main periods of his life and professional career as a historian. The article focuses on his work in the KSPI in the educational, methodical and scientific fields. Mainly due to his active organizational and editorial work, and his creative contacts with historians from Moscow, a series of collections of works titled “The Problems of General History” were published, in them the Moscow scientists M. Barg, V. Lavrovsky and others participated side by side with Kazan historians. The major monograph “The French Village in the 19th and 20th Centuries. Evolution Trends”, published in 1986 by “Nauka” Publishing House, crowned his long-term research into agrarian history of France, the work was highly appreciated by the scientific community.
